Suzuki outboard models we service
Suzuki Outboard Maintenance & Service Schedule
Keeping up with your Suzuki outboard’s maintenance schedule is the single most important thing you can do to protect your engine investment. We perform every scheduled service interval to factory specifications, using genuine Suzuki parts and fluids, to keep your warranty intact and your engine running at peak performance.
Suzuki 20-Hour Break-In Service
The most important service in your Suzuki’s life. During break-in, internal components settle into final tolerances, leaving a fine layer of break-in particulate in the engine and gear oils. We replace both oils with genuine Suzuki fluids, swap the oil filter, re-torque critical fasteners, and verify fuel and cooling systems. Skipping this service is one of the most common causes of long-term engine wear, so it’s the one interval we strongly recommend never delaying.
Suzuki 100-Hour / Annual Service
Whether you log 100 engine hours fast or it takes a full year, your Suzuki needs annual service to stay healthy. We refresh engine oil and filter, gear oil, spark plugs, and fuel filters; inspect the water-pump impeller, throttle and shift linkage, and the engine for corrosion and wear; and check anodes and connections — small items that prevent expensive failures. Annual service is required to keep your factory or extended warranty valid.
Suzuki 300-Hour Major Service
The 300-hour interval (or every three years, whichever comes first) is the major scheduled service. In addition to all 100-hour items, we replace the water-pump impeller, replace sacrificial anodes, check valve clearances, and on applicable models inspect or replace the timing belt. This is the service that keeps your Suzuki running like new well past 1,000 hours.
| Service Interval | Timing | Key Services Included |
|---|---|---|
| 20-Hour (Break-In) | After first 20 hrs | Engine oil & filter change, gear oil change, check all fasteners and torque, inspect fuel and cooling systems, software/connection check. |
| 100-Hour / Annual | Every 100 hrs or 1 year | Engine oil & filter, gear oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, water-pump impeller inspection, throttle/shift linkage check, anode and corrosion inspection. |
| 300-Hour | Every 300 hrs or 3 years | All 100-hour items plus: water pump impeller replacement, timing belt (if applicable), anode replacement, valve clearance check, complete cooling-system service. |
Suzuki Warranty & Extended Protection Service
When your Suzuki outboard needs warranty work or you need to file a Suzuki Extended Protection (SEP) claim, Precision Marine is your authorized Suzuki service center in Largo, FL. We file Suzuki warranty and SEP claims for you and make insurance repairs easy.
Every new Suzuki outboard includes a Suzuki factory limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship for a defined period from the date of purchase. To keep that warranty valid, Suzuki requires that scheduled maintenance be performed at recommended intervals — and that warranty work be performed at an authorized Suzuki service center.
Suzuki Factory Limited Warranty
The standard new-engine Suzuki warranty covers parts and labor for covered defects when work is performed at an authorized Suzuki dealer. We diagnose, document, and submit warranty claims directly to Suzuki, so there’s no paperwork on your end.
Suzuki Extended Protection (SEP)
SEP is Suzuki’s extended protection plan, administered by Cornerstone, that lengthens coverage beyond the standard factory limited warranty. We sell SEP plans alongside new Suzuki engines and file SEP claims directly through Cornerstone for you. SEP must be purchased while the original factory warranty is still active.
Note: SEP does not cover corrosion-related damage or engines used commercially or for charter. Ask us about coverage details before you buy.
Insurance Repairs
Damage to your boat or outboard? Contact your insurance company first — Progressive, Geico, or most major marine insurers — to open the claim. Once the claim is open, we’ll document the damage with photos and a written estimate, work with your adjuster, and complete approved repairs with genuine Suzuki parts.
Genuine Parts & Authorized Repair
Service with non-OEM parts or by an unauthorized shop can void warranty coverage on the affected components. Every warranty repair we perform uses genuine Suzuki parts to factory specifications, protecting your coverage and your resale value.

Suzuki Outboard Repower — New Engine Sales & Installation
Is your current outboard costing more to repair than it’s worth? A Suzuki repower transforms your boat’s performance, reliability, and fuel efficiency without buying a new vessel. Precision Marine offers full repower packages including engine selection guidance, professional installation, rigging, and sea trial.
Why repower with Suzuki
A new Suzuki four-stroke gives your hull another decade-plus of dependable service at a fraction of the cost of a new boat — with cleaner emissions, dramatically better fuel economy, and far less noise and vibration than the engine you’re replacing.
- Suzuki Lean Burn fuel efficiency
- 4-stroke reliability — clean and long-life
- Factory warranty on every new Suzuki
- DF2.5 to DF350 horsepower range
- Strong resale value and a quieter ride
What’s included in a repower
A complete repower covers removing the old engine, mounting and bolting the new outboard to the transom, gauge or digital display install, prop sizing, and a full sea trial to confirm everything operates correctly before you take delivery.

Marine Electronics & Accessory Installation
From chartplotter installation to full vessel rewires, Precision Marine is Largo’s trusted source for marine electronics sales and installation. As an authorized Garmin, Simrad, and Power-Pole dealer, we sell and install the equipment that keeps you safe and navigating confidently — from GPS and VHF radios to Power-Pole shallow water anchors and custom stereo systems. Our techs install to marine-grade standards on every job so your wiring is clean and built for the Tampa Bay salt environment.
Boat wiring: why hire a professional
Boat wiring isn’t automotive wiring. The marine environment is brutal — salt spray, vibration, humidity, and constant flexing eat through improperly chosen wire and connectors in months, not years. Faulty wiring is a leading cause of onboard fires and electronics failures. Hiring a professional protects your boat, your warranty, and the people on board.
- Marine-grade installation standards
- Tinned marine-grade wire and heat-shrink connections
- Properly fused circuits and clean, supported runs
- Authorized Garmin, Simrad & Power-Pole dealer
- Full manufacturer warranty support
Navigation, GPS & Sonar Electronics
Chartplotter and GPS installation and networking, fishfinder and HDS displays, transducer installation (thru-hull, transom, and shoot-thru), and AIS-capable VHF radio installation. Whether it’s a single MFD or a full multi-station network, we wire it clean and tune it before you leave the shop.
Marine Audio & Stereo Systems
Custom stereo source units, speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers from Fusion, JL Audio, and Wet Sounds. We size the system to your boat, run proper power and grounds, and tune the install so it sounds as good underway as it does at the dock.
Power-Pole & Trolling Motor Installation
As an authorized Power-Pole dealer we install shallow water anchors, hydraulic setups, and dash-mounted controls. Trolling motor wiring done right means the right gauge wire, the right batteries, and a charging system that actually keeps up.
Battery Banks, Pumps & Full Rewires
Bilge pump wiring and upgrades, battery bank and charging system installation, and complete boat rewires and harness repair. Whether you’re refitting an older hull or chasing a gremlin in a year-old boat, we’ll get the wiring right and document it so the next tech can read it at a glance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Service & scheduling
How do I schedule Suzuki marine service in Largo?
Call us at (727) 518-2151 or use our online Schedule Service form. We’ll confirm your appointment and get you back on the water.
Do you offer mobile marine service near me?
Yes — for routine maintenance only. We provide mobile dockside service throughout Pinellas County and Tampa Bay for scheduled services. Repairs and larger jobs are handled at our Largo shop, and we offer haul-out service to bring your boat in.
What types of boat engines do you service?
We are a Suzuki-only authorized service center, specializing exclusively in the full Suzuki 4-stroke outboard lineup, from the DF2.5 portable to the DF350A.
How long does Suzuki outboard service typically take?
Turnaround depends on the service, parts availability, and current shop schedule. We’ll provide an estimated timeline so you know exactly what to expect.
Warranty, SEP & insurance
Does Suzuki warranty cover labor costs?
Yes. The Suzuki factory limited warranty covers parts and labor for covered defects when the work is performed at an authorized Suzuki service center.
What is the Suzuki Extended Protection Plan?
SEP is Suzuki’s extended protection plan, administered by Cornerstone, that extends coverage beyond the standard factory limited warranty. It must be purchased before the original warranty expires. SEP does not cover corrosion-related damage or engines used commercially or for charter.
Can I buy extended warranty after my factory warranty expires?
Suzuki Extended Protection must be purchased while the original factory warranty is still active. Contact us early if you’re considering SEP for your engine.
What happens if I use a non-authorized shop for service?
Service performed by an unauthorized shop, or with non-OEM parts, can void warranty coverage on the affected components. Always use an authorized Suzuki dealer to maintain full warranty protection.
How do I make a warranty claim for my Suzuki outboard?
Call Precision Marine and bring your engine to our Largo shop. We handle the entire claim process for you — diagnosis, paperwork, and approved repair — filing factory warranty claims directly with Suzuki and SEP claims with Cornerstone.
Do you work with boat insurance claims?
Yes. We work with Progressive, Geico, and other major marine insurance providers. The first step is to contact your insurance provider to open a claim — once that’s done, we document the damage, provide estimates, and coordinate the approved repairs to make the process easy on you.
Repower
How much does a Suzuki repower cost?
Repower cost depends on horsepower, single vs. twin engines, controls (mechanical vs. digital), and any rigging or transom work needed. We provide transparent itemized quotes — request one to get an accurate number for your boat.
How long does a repower installation take?
Timing depends on horsepower, controls (mechanical vs. digital), and whether twin engines or rigging upgrades are involved. We’ll give you a clear timeline with your quote.
Can any boat be repowered with a Suzuki outboard?
Most outboard-powered boats can be repowered with a Suzuki, as long as the transom and weight ratings support the chosen horsepower. Our consultation step confirms compatibility before you commit.
Will a new outboard improve my boat's fuel economy?
Yes — usually significantly. Modern Suzuki four-strokes with Lean Burn technology often deliver 20–40% better fuel economy than older 2-stroke or early 4-stroke engines.
